Sustainability and Culture Training in Lisbon - kick-off with local ROCK working group

This workshop will bring together key stakeholders involved in ROCK (Regeneration and Optimization of Cultural heritage in creative and Knowledge cities) who are committed to improving Lisbon’s environmental performance and sustainability credentials. This workshop aims to develop a common programme between all relevant stakeholders to support Lisbon City Council in embedding environmental thinking and action within its approach to cultural management and within the practices of its cultural portfolio.

The workshop’s objectives are to: - Demonstrate the role of artists and cultural professionals in contributing to the sustainable development agenda in cities; - Share good practices on how cities support their cultural infrastructure, artistic actions and cultural projects to respond to climate and environmental change through funding, policy, training and investment; - Scope Lisbon’s opportunities for integrating arts, culture and environment, identifying opportunities for creating, connecting and reinforcing new and existing practice and policy.

The workshop will be interactive and exploratory. Participants will get the chance to share and troubleshoot their own experiences, ideas and challenges and will review and discuss opportunities for scaling successful initiatives and developing new approaches and partnerships.
